Dear Colleague and your friends
Please find attached an invite from our Brighton Youths Volunteer Initiative and who are preparing to go to Kenya in September for 3 weeks on a Commonwealth Youth Exchange Council funded project. The 16-25 year-olds have been utilising an ESF grant to gain new IT and Social skills to take with them to the African country. While in Kenya, the youths will help the people of the village of Kibugat in preparing and hosting the first ever International 'ICT FOR Development Conference' to be held in rural Africa. The conference will be held in one of our success stories that we have fully networked with computers over the last 3 years. They will also work with their peers in Kibugat in producing a film on the theme of climate change.
IT Skills 4 Rural Kenya Presents: Keys to Kenya Installation FundraisingEvent 2010, Jubilee Square, Brighton, Thursday 29th July, 10am-7pm

Award-winning Interior Architecture Graduate Kenneth Awele Okafor, volunteers from IT Skills 4 Rural Kenya and Brighton and Hove Sixth Form College Students designed an Art Installation of a Map of Africa, and PC keyboard keys. This would enable the public to fulfill the opportunity to place the keys on the installation, to help fund raise ITS4RK to send volunteers to Kenya, to teach the community how to use computers as well as recycled computers sent to Kenya, to raise awareness of the environment and giving the community in Kenya the chance to communicate around the world. Limited Editions Brighton and Award-winning, Multi-disciplinary Arts Group, Circus Kinetica, are included to help us fund raising in this event.
See our fund raising installation at Jubille Square and help us participate in building the map of Africa with keyboard keys. In addition, learn about Africa as a whole such as cultures, traditions, rivers, villages, etc. We have music drummers and sculptures in relation to Africa. Join us and fundraise for a good cause. Min. £2.50 per key. Website: www.itskills4ruralkenya.org; Registered Charity Number 1132648.
Kindest regards, Edward Kibosek: Founder and Operations Director IT Skills 4 Rural Kenya
